  1. How do we ship using our Standard Delivery?

Did you know citrus is one of the few fruits which does not ripen after it is picked like most fruits. The sugar to acid ratio inside stays the same while the outside may change color. That is why our fruit is better then what you can get in your local market as they prefer citrus not fully ripened, which has a longer shelf life since there is a lower sugar to acid ratio (more acidic fruit taste tarter but lasts longer. All of our fruit is tree ripened (so there is a higher sugar to acid ratio meaning sweeter fruit, guaranteed) and your fruit is picked the day before it is packed and sent in our climate controlled trucks which deliver the packages to the U.S. post office nearest your delivery address. From there, their local postal employee hand delivers the package to the door.

Delivery time takes five days, give or take a few, from the time the truck leaves and is guaranteed to arrive in perfect condition and must be thoroughly enjoyed or we'll make it right with a replacement or a refund.

  4. What makes your citrus better than what I can buy in the store?

Even in Florida, you cannot get the quality of citrus that we ship. You see, grocery stores are usually more concerned about profit margin and shelf life. Buying something that doesn't cost a lot (citrus ranges in price depending on grade and other factors) and since it takes a while to get onto their sales floor (often the fruit along with other products go to a distribution hub where products are then routed to the individual stores stock room, and then out to display), they want fruit that will last a few weeks so as not to spoil a few days after putting it out to sell. This requires the citrus to be picked before they are fully ripe so they have a higher acid to sugar ratio since the more acidic the longer it will last. However, unlike bananas, apples, peaches and most other fruits, citrus does not ripen any further after it is picked. Once removed from the tree, the acid to sugar ratio (called brix) stays the same.

We leave them on the tree as long as possible. Your fruit is not picked until after you order. Outside December when we ship once a week, the citrus us picked, washed, graded and sized a day or two before it is packed and shipped out in our "refer" trucks (keeps them a steady cool temperature so they don't cook in hot weather and freeze in frozen weather).

  5. How do you deliver and how long does it take?

Our fruit is hand picked and hand packed and shipped out no more than two days after being picked in our "refer" trucks (see above for what a "refer" truck does). We deliver them to the post office near or in the city being delivered in about 1 to 3 days depending on destination. From there, the U.S. Post Office will sort them in with the regular mail down to what is called the DDU (destination delivery unit), which is your "local" post office. From there, the regular postal employee delivers the package with the rest of the mail.

This takes about 5 days give or take a few depending on destination and efficiency of the Post Office getting to the DDU and the DDU sorting it to get to the delivery location (house or business). In the FedEx overnight or 2nd day times we live in for other mail order products, this seems like a long time, but it's not. It's still fresh off the tree, delivered far sooner than fruit picked up at the grocery store and far better since it has less acid and more sugar (fructose) from tree ripening. All our products are 100% guaranteed. Not only to be delivered in perfect condition, we also guarantee the flavor to be far better than store bought fruit. If for any reason there is damage upon arrival, or it does not meet or exceed your expectations, we will make it right with a replacement or a refund. All our boxes comes with comment cards that can be sent in as well as our toll free number to report any problems (which are unlikely, we have a 1% replacement rate).
